This is the 2nd Statue Of Liberty I've seen in France. The other one is mounted at the Seine River.

When you enter the museum, this replica of the Statue of Liberty is one of the first things you see. This is the 2nd one I have seen in Paris. Another one is located on the Seine River.

A couple of days ago, I visited the musèe dÓrsay or dÓrsay museum, as it shall be known here (hey, it’s difficult keying that weird “e” on my keyboard that only works half the time on my tablet for some reason). I was fascinated with the beautiful building that later, I found out was a former train station constructed in 1900. The construction style is called Beaux-Arts and in my opinion, the building itself is worth half the admission. Angie met me there and although the museum is quite large, we covered quite a bit of ground, i.e., seeing most of the major collection pieces by Monet, Gaugin, Mamet, Van Gogh, Sisley, Renoir, Cezanne, and Degas.

Angie also wanted to see the Luxembourg Palace and Gardens, so we walked from the museum to the palace and saw that as well. Stunning gorgeous gardens in a park like setting, with runners exercising and further away from the palace, we found a large water fountain, with basketball courts . . . Just kidding silly. Remember, we’re in France, not Brooklyn, New York. We actually found numerous table tennis (ping pong) tables set up for the public to use. Of course, I had to play since I once played in amateur leagues, when I lived in Great Britain back in the mid-1970s. So without further adieu (another French word), I’ll let the photos speak for themselves  .  .  .

One of at least three giant clocks I spotted inside this museum.

I am not certain, but I believe this is a Renoir.

Unbelievable - Angie and I are heading to the Luxembourg Palace and we come across this non-descript small church with a Picasso sculpture in the church's garden/courtyard area. Amazing what you come across, huh?

Back in the day, I was a fairly good table tennis player - once hitting against the number 2 ranked player in Great Britain. Today? I stink.
